RADAR Simulation & Modeling Engineer
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD
Aspen Consulting Group is seeking a full-time Radar Simulation and Modeling Engineer to work on-site at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The successful candidate will provide support for system troubleshooting and problem resolution by identifying and mitigating technical issues that arise during development and operational phases. They will perform research and develop innovative/emerging radar signal processing algorithms and models to integrate into the overall M&S effort to model and emulate radar capabilities. They will also develop and maintain simulation models of radar systems for performance evaluation and scenario testing, aiding in the design and refinement of radar algorithms.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related STEM field
- 3+ years’ experience in design, development, and testing of software algorithms, applications and components
- 3+ years’ experience in developing system and sub-system level models
- Experience using tools such as MATLAB or Python for analysis of data sets

RADAR Engineer
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD
Aspen Consulting Group is seeking a full-time Radar Engineer to work on-site at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The successful candidate will have experience with ground or air-based radar systems and will provide engineering support to radar science and technology efforts. This support will include the development of new radar signal and data processing techniques and radar concepts. They will lead the development of system architecture and the integration of software and hardware subsystems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in ground or air-based radar systems
- Experience in test and evaluation planning
- Experience with systems engineering with radar/RF software (primary) and hardware (secondary) subsystems
- U.S. citizenship with an active DoD secret clearance required
Software Defined Radio (SDR) Engineer
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD
Aspen Consulting Group (ACG) is seeking a full-time Software Defined Radio (SDR) Engineer to work for the US Army’s DEVCOM C5ISR Center on-site in APG, Maryland with the option to eventually telework two days a week. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual willing to pursue “outside-the-box” ideas and concepts to enhance and optimize development projects. The ability to understand and communicate highly complex technical concepts and requirements in embedded applications is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or computer engineering with 5+ years of relevant hardware experience is required (experience with embedded systems is a plus).
- Experience in accurately documenting software (requirements, flow diagrams, readme, users guide, etc.) and managing software bugs, features, epochs, sprints, and releases using tools (e.g., JIRA) is required.
- Experience with VHDL, Verilog, or MATLAB System Generator with competency in learning, developing, and maintaining existing source code and Xilinx based FPGA projects is required.
- Experience in Linux OS environment with advanced competency in installing and using software from Linux repositories and source code such as building a C project from source with Make, as well as using Linux command line utilities is required.
- Experience in one or more SDR frameworks such as GNU Radio, USRP/UHD, RTL-SDR, and Epic SDR development kits is preferred.
- Experience with commercial communication systems and/or radar signal processing is preferred, and the ability to manipulate digital RF data with DSP algorithms and codec processing is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance upon hire (TS/SCI preferred).
Branch Program Financial Specialist
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD
Aspen Consulting Group (ACG) is seeking a full-time Branch Program Financial Specialist to work for the US Army’s DEVCOM C5ISR Center on-site in APG, Maryland with the option to eventually telework two days a week. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual willing to pursue financial management excellence to enhance and optimize the execution of all science and technology projects within the branch. The ability to understand, execute, manage, and track complex financial plans with a superb attention to detail is essential. The ideal candidate will also be an outstanding communicator with excellent inter-personnel interaction skills.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant financial management experience is required (bachelor’s degree is a plus).
- Experience in managing financial plans for branch projects to ensure established budgets are met and optimized over time.
- Experience in planning and tracking all financial aspects through effective communications both internally and externally.
- Experience in reporting status of complex financial plans and recommendations to produce better business and process outcomes.
- Experience in managing financial tracking spreadsheets, databases, and online tools including SharePoint and MS Teams as well as providing summary reports of essential information on demand.
- Experience in predicting financial challenges, identifying obstacles and issues, and providing advice and guidance on resolution.

Radar Systems Engineer

Software Developer
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD
Aspen Consulting Group is seeking a full-time Software Developer for a hybrid position with on-site presence at Aberdeen Proving Ground as needed. The successful candidate will be a primary software developer on the Modular Open RF Architecture (MORA) Software Working Group (SWG) developing reference code and test tools as well as supporting Army S&T projects and programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering with 5+ years of programming experience is required and 10+ years is preferred.
- Experience with software development workflow using Linux, Docker, C++11 (and up), CMake, Python, and Gitlab is required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with service-based architecture, multi-threading, inter-process communications, networking, and SOAP is preferred.
- Experience with software defined radios, high performance data streaming, and digital signal processing is desirable.
- Familiarity with Modular Open Radio Frequency Architecture (MORA) is preferred.
- Familiarity with VITA 49.2 VITA Radio Transport (VRT) Standard for Electromagnetic Spectrum: Signals and Applications is desirable.

AI/ML Software Engineer
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD
Aspen Consulting Group is seeking a full-time AI/ML Software Engineer to work on-site at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine learning specifically in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep Learning (DL), and RF signal/image processing applications to participate in on-going radar research and development (R&D). You will provide analysis, requirements and algorithm design, implementation, integration, verification, and maintenance of artificial intelligence software systems, and collaborate across multi-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving the IT services enterprise. You will be responsible to research and implement state-of-the-art ML technologies tailored for application to RF data processing.
Qualifications:
