Electrical Wire Harness Design Consultant [FULL-TIME]

Location: Remote Work

Aspen Consulting Group (ACG) is seeking an Electrical Wire Harness Design Consultant to work remotely for one month starting immediately. This will be a full-time, short-term assignment for approximately 30 days. The successful candidate will have experience with Altium Designer. The candidate would create, route, and document harnesses, connector layouts, and drawings for all harnesses in relatively small enclosures (< 12” x 12”). This role bridges system schematics and physical manufacturing drawings to ensure error-free electromechanical integration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Altium Designer or similar design programs.
  • 3+ years in electrical/harness design.
  • Experience with creating and managing harness wiring diagrams, defining pin connections, wire properties (gauge, color, type), and signal flow.
  • Strong understanding of wire/cable specifications, IPC standards, harness manufacturing constraints, and connector selection.
  • U.S citizen.

Since this is a short-term effort, the successful candidate will be a 1099 consultant to Aspen. Start date would likely be sometime during the week of 24 August 2026.

Marketing & Social Media Coordinator [PART-TIME]

Location: Remote Work

Aspen Consulting Group (ACG) is seeking a part-time Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to work remotely, approximately 20-40 hours a month with a flexible schedule. The qualified candidate will be required to attend weekly TEAMS calls and work well independently.

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and creative Marketing & Social Media Intern to help increase our company’s visibility, strengthen our online presence, and support day-to-day marketing operations. This role is ideal for a student or emerging professional interested in digital marketing, branding, social media management, and business communications. The coordinator will assist with managing and growing the company’s presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels while also helping organize and maintain marketing-related spreadsheets and tracking systems. Additional support with website updates and content management is a plus. This role offers hands-on experience in marketing strategy, content creation, audience engagement, and business promotion while contributing directly to the growth and visibility of the company. The coordinator will also assist with Slick Sheet creation and audience customization as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associates degree or current student enrolled in Business, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to design and post weekly posts for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, increasing the company’s presence across these platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and TEAMS.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and attention to detail.
  • Basic website or design experience is a plus, along with print layout software and print media creation.

Field Programmable Gate Array (FGPA) Software Defined Radio (SDR) Engineer

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground MD

Aspen Consulting Group (ACG) is seeking a full-time FPGA/SDR Engineer to work initially on-site in Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. The successful candidate will have competencies in developing advanced Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology.

In this role, you will come up with solutions for complex mission-critical challenges by designing, developing, and testing FPGA-based capabilities. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, contribute to innovative solutions, and grow your expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment. Our Research and Development (R&D) “hacker-like” environment focuses on innovative approaches and thought processes as opposed to extensive design documentation, meetings, and formalized review processes. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies and deliver impactful solutions for real-world applications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience developing SDR solutions
  • Linux experience
  • VHDL programming experience
  • FPGA Toolchains (Vivado or Quartus) experience
  • Basic Git, SVN, or Mercurial experience for version control
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance (Top Secret/SCI Clearance preferred)
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to discuss complex topics in detail
  • Ability to work on a team and collaborate with engineers and technicians to integrate hardware and software components

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics Field
  • RF communications experience
  • Ability to work with RF test equipment: Spectrum Analyzer, RSA, Vector Waveform Generator
  • Beginner/Intermediate experience with C, Python
  • Intermediate/Advanced experience in VHDL
  • Experience with FPGA software debugging tools using JTAG (ChipScope or SignalTap)
  • Desire to pass the torch and mentor other team members (from junior to senior level) on your development accomplishments to grow the knowledge of the entire team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research:
    • Conduct research on signal processing techniques, communication protocols, and hardware design methodologies.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in FPGA and SDR technologies to inform design decisions and improve system performance.
  • Design:
    • Develop high-level architectures and create internal design documents to guide the engineering process and testing.
    • Research and implement algorithms to meet system requirements, using appropriate tools and methodologies.
    • Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and translate them into a working design.
  • Development:
    • Write and optimize VHDL/Verilog code, leveraging internal libraries or creating custom components and finite state machines (FSMs).
    • Develop software applications to support FPGA/SDR functionality, including configuration, control, and data processing.
    • Ensure compliance with team’s coding standards and best practices.
  • Simulation and Testing:
    • Debug, test, and optimize designs across various environments to ensure functionality and performance by simulating and deploying designs to hardware.
    • Collaborate with field engineers to support final testing and validation efforts.
